Gold particles are associated with pyrite and arsenopyrite in the low-grade arsenic-bearing refractory gold ore investigated in this study. In 60 days, the pool bio-oxidation system with aerated, daily bacterial liquid circulation achieved arsenic and sulfur oxidation rates 69% and 41%, respectively, corresponding to an 83% of gold leaching rate.
